about
I continued my reading of Jeremiah and ran into Jeremiah 50 where God is calling his people to come up the mountain where he dwells and stay with him, ignoring the shepherds who will guide them astray while they climb upward. The Prodigal Son story is very much the book of Jeremiah condensed down. The children of God are astray and even led more astray, and God is constantly pursuing them, warning them, pleading with them to come back. He will run out from the mountain and meet them as they climb, face turned upward.
It was an incredible delight to have my music dad, Phil, write this one with me.
lyrics
Daughter, daughter, come;
Weeping, weeping, come;
There is room, there is room, come
To my house, do you know the way?
Do you know the way? Will you seek my face?
You are worth the wait, so I’m waiting, waiting.
You may ask the way; hear me when I say:
Turn your face to the mountain, climb up and stay.
Daughter, daughter, rise;
Look to, look to the skies;
Wander, wander from lies;
You’ve been lost, you’ve been lost inside
